Review: Atomic Dreams at the Red Tiki Lounge

5 out of 5

There was just something about this book that grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let me go. The writing style reminded me quite a bit of Catch-22, without being quite as satirical. I enjoyed getting to know the unlikely…heroes of our story, and how they weren’t your typical archetypes. I loved the imagery used, I could see everything unfolding before me. The story itself moves along fairly smoothly, and at a decent pace. It’s not quite what I think of when I think historical fantasy, but I think that just makes me like it more. I love how the characters are real, down-to-earth, and flawed. Not your ordinary Joe/Jane, but not exactly superheroes either. I honestly can’t recommend this enough if you enjoy fantasy and books like Catch-22!  – Liliyana Shadowlyn, The Faerie Review
